Carla Walker is a seasoned professional with over two decades of expertise in real estate development, property management, and community revitalization. She specializes in managing multifamily housing, commercial real estate, and mixed-use developments, focusing on enhancing operational performance and improving property value. Currently, Carla serves as Community Manager for St. Michael’s Veterans Center, a property managed by Yarco Companies.

As a new board member of the Apartment Association of Kansas City (AAKC), Carla actively contributes to several committees, including the Trade Show, Crystal Merit, Professional Development, and Education committees. She will now serve as the co-chair for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Trade Show committees.

A Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) and Missouri-licensed real estate broker, Carla holds an MBA in Business Management and a Bachelor’s in Human Resources Management. Her dedication to excellence has been recognized through numerous awards, including the AAKC Crystal Merit Awards for Property and Community Activities of the Year.

Carla’s passion has always been to serve those in the housing industry. Her work exemplifies a commitment to fostering equity, innovation, and growth within the real estate and property management sectors.
